Damn. Hopefully they replace it with a nice German unit which will have to be serviced every two years, and whose electronics will probably fail this rendering it useless. But at least it won't send shards of metal through my wife's face!

All 3 of my cars have this recall haha. Still no letter from BMW or Mercedes.

Yeah, the 1-series is under the recall too. I’m delaying setting foot in a BMW dealership, though, for my own sanity...
